Does Belaws Share Your Personal Information?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business and we are not in the business of selling our customers' personal information to others. Belaws shares customers' information only as described below:
Transactions Involving Third Parties
We make available to you services provided by third parties for use on or through Belaws Services. For example, our lawyers will provide their services to you through Belaws and Belaws will share customer information related to those transactions with them. Our lawyers are subject to strict confidentiality regulations depending on the jurisdiction where they operate.
Third Party Service Providers
We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf, such as analysing data, providing marketing assistance, processing payments and providing customer service. These third-party service providers have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes, and must process the personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Business Transfers
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy other businesses or services. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy, unless the customer consents otherwise.
Protection of Belaws
We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property or safety of Belaws, our users or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
Attorney-Client Privileges
Customers may share confidential information about their potential matters to our lawyers through Belaws Services. The information shared on a job request is not protected by attorney-client privilege. The attorney-client privilege relationship only starts from the moment the customer accepts the quotation from the lawyer and signs the engagement letter.
Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when personal information about you might be shared with third parties and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
Transfers Out of the European Economic Area
Whenever we transfer personal information to countries outside of the European Economic Area in the course of sharing information as set out above, we will ensure that the information is transferred in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted by the applicable laws on data protection.
