Frequently asked questions
What is the main criteria to qualify for a CM2H visa?
The CM2H gold visa was created to attract foreign investment. While there may have been some confusion when it was first announced, the main eligibility criteria is an investment capital of USD 100,000 to be paid in two instalments.
Ownership of real estate is not required, as successful applicants will be allocated a market stall in a new complex that will be considered property. Investments made in property prior to the announcement are unlikely to have the best chance of being accepted for a visa application. However, it is still possible to try to apply as the KHCA may take a case-by-case approach to applications.
How long can I stay in Cambodia with a CM2H visa?
CM2H visa holders can stay in Cambodia for 10 years, but it should be noted that it is also possible to apply for Cambodian citizenship after 5 years, which means unlimited residence in Cambodia.
Why is the CM2H visa valuable?
In addition to the 10-year visa and the possibility of obtaining Cambodian citizenship in 5 years, CM2H visa holders enjoy many benefits as they are considered honoured guests. The KHCA is committed to providing them with all the assistance they need to make their stay in Cambodia pleasant and hassle-free. These benefits include a 10-year membership of the KHCA, free property, tax and legal advice, as well as advice on finding the best schools for children, if any, and free exchange of your national driving licence for a local driving licence for one year.
CM2H visa holders are also entitled to one year’s free life and health insurance and can register a medium-sized business in Cambodia for free.
How long will it take to get my visa?
Under current practice the application process for the CM2H visa will take around a month.
