What is Document Translation?
When doing business in Thailand, all official documents must be submitted in Thai. Furthermore, if you are considering opening a new business in Thailand, you may be required to submit some supporting documents from your home country. These documents must be translated into Thai or they could be rejected by the authorities.
Similarly, you may enter into an agreement with a Thai service provider or partner and the contract may be presented to you in Thai. In order to make sure the contract is correct and contains everything you agree upon and protects your interests, a translation is highly recommended.
It is important to obtain a translation you can trust and rely upon because should there be a discrepancy between the Thai original and the English translation, the Thai Courts will normally give precedence to the original Thai version.

Can an English translation of a Thai document be relied upon in a Thai court?
If there are any discrepancies between a Thai document and the English translation, the Thai Courts will normally give precedence to the original Thai version. This means the Thai version will over rule the translation.
