This proposal could reshape how cannabis is used and commercialised in Thailand.<\/p>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section av-m1626vw4-a4319196f56d238b2b7aacb11bbb49ef\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock text_16\">\n<p>The draft, proposed by the Ministry of Public Health, aims to maintain the plant&#8217;s legal status while introducing stricter controls.<\/p>\n<p>Key highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Medical and Research Use:<\/strong> Cannabis will remain legal for medical treatments and research under strict supervision by licensed professionals or authorized agencies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recreational Use Restrictions:<\/strong> While recreational use isn&#8217;t explicitly banned, restrictions on personal consumption remain in place, emphasizing controlled use in compliance with other laws.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Licensing and Compliance:<\/strong> Businesses involved in cultivation, sales, or exports must secure new licenses, categorized by cultivation scale (small, medium, or large). A Cannabis Regulatory Board will oversee compliance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sales Restrictions:<\/strong> Prohibited methods include online sales, vending machines, and promotional activities.
