During this period, they can engage in their duties while waiting for approval from the BOI and the official work permit from the Labor Department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please note that there is no requirement to hold a work permit for foreign shareholders or directors of a company however, if a director undertakes certain actions, e.g., signs documents on behalf of the company in Thailand, a work permit must be obtained as this is deemed work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As mentioned above, Thailand has a wide definition of work; any activity under this requires a work permit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-lj6j3zmd-7306564030087dfb6c0a183567a29541'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock text_16'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><b>4.
