and<\/li>\n<li>The Royal Decree issued under the Revenue Code Re: VAT exemption (No. 745) B.E. 2565 (2022) which states that trading in Thailand\u2019s retail central bank digital currency (\u201cCBDC\u201d) issued by the Bank of Thailand will also be exempt from VAT payment obligations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<div class='flex_column av-fpevw-aab8acce1826d370629f645f34d6bd3b av_two_third  avia-builder-el-16  el_after_av_textblock  el_before_av_one_third  first av-break-at-tablet flex_column_div column-top-margin'   ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-kscytnto-6f8bd4ca8aa4b5f4311495ee3b7802c6'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock h2_bleu_post'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h2>Why has Thailand introduced this exemption?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l0huk884-5e012d1f935688a6acc77142807b8462'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock text_16'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>By offering this VAT exemption on Thailand, the Thai Government hopes to promote and increase trade in cryptocurrencies or digital tokens through Thailand\u2019s approved exchanges. The use of exchanges registered in Thailand, as opposed to say Binance (which is not registered in Thailand) will allow the proper regulation of digital asset transactions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l4dms3qo-633507f5ba7296d16d4a6bdc29bbf37a'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock text_16'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Furthermore, this VAT exemption in Thailand has also been extended to include trade in the Retail Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), issued by the Bank of Thailand. This exemption will be in place for the same period, until December 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l4dmsa9f-8f8fefa835f6ac35580ae0022091272e'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock text_16'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Thailand&#8217;s Central Bank stated in December 2021 that the proposed Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) would be made available for testing to the public in late 2022.
