Several cities across seven provinces have committed to pursuing Smart City development. These provinces include Phuket, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Chon Buri, Rayong, Bangkok, and Chachoengsao.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l93yaitu-3a0d21bb17b6d8e526ac30887b67f036'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock text_16'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>The aim of these Smart Cities is to create a centre for trade, investment, regional transportation, and a strategic gateway to Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The Eastern Special Development Zone Act B.E. 2561 (the EEC Act), was enacted as a way to encourage infrastructure and economic development in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) region of Thailand. It was also hoped this Act would boost investment in Specific Targeted Industries, through Smart City Promotion Incentives. These incentives would be available to companies whose products can improve the quality of life in Thailand in the following six areas:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l95e182z-035ab054aaeee06ed1d26d02f744fbe1'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock text_16'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>1. <strong>Smart Mobility<\/strong>, to reduce urban congestion by improving public transportation efficiency, while also reducing the incidence of traffic accidents, improving air quality, and reducing the parking footprint.<br \/>\n2.<strong> Smart People<\/strong>, to improve education and social equity among Thai citizens.<br \/>\n3. <strong>Smart Living<\/strong>, to promote a healthy, safe and culturally vibrant society<br \/>\n4. <strong>Smart Economy<\/strong>, to improve the ease of doing business, foster productivity, stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation, and increase local and global interconnectedness.<br \/>\n5. <strong>Smart Governance<\/strong>, to encourage more efficient public services, enable supply &amp; demand side policies, promote transparency and open data, and enact ICT &amp; eGov policies.<br \/>\n6. <strong>Smart Energy &amp; Environment<\/strong>, to provide green energy, green buildings and green urban planning, for a clean and safe environment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l9gupcc2-ae80aba390bcbf0465e8bccd70ebd756'  itemscope=\"itemscope\"
