From the founders of Solana announcing they’ve developed their own mobile phone, to a big announcement from Cristiano Ronaldo and Binance, Web 3.0 is once again making waves in the online world.
In this article we will take a look at some of the biggest headlines relating to Web 3.0 from the past 2 weeks.

Web 3.0 is constantly evolving and there is always some exciting news and developments occurring. In this article we will take a look at some of the biggest developments to have happened over the past 2 weeks.
Solana to launch a mobile phone
Solana has announced they have developed their own mobile phone, the Saga. The Saga has been made in collaboration with Osom. The Saga will be tightly integrated with the Solana blockchain with the intention of making it easy and secure for their users to undertake transactions within Web 3.0. The Saga will also make it easier to manage digital assets, such as tokens and NFTs.
The phone is priced at $1,000, and preorders have already begun.
Nickelodeon announce Web 3.0
Nickelodeon have told their fans to “Stay Tooned ” for their upcoming Web 3.0 project which is expected to arrive this Summer. This project has been created in partnership with Recur.
The project plans to bring some of Nickelodeon’s most iconic 90’s programming into the metaverse. The first stage of the project begins with an initial drop of official Nickelodeon digital collectibles from two of Nickelodeon’s most popular shows of all time, Rugrats and Hey Arnold!
Binance and Cristiano Ronaldo announce partnership
Binance has announced an NFT based partnership with Portuguese footballing legend, Cristiano Ronaldo.
As part of this partnership, Binance and Cristiano Ronaldo will create a series of NFT collections for sale exclusively on the Binance NFT platform. The first NFT collection will be released later this year and feature designs created in collaboration with Ronaldo.
Doodles appoint Pharell Williams to their board
Doodles, a leading NFT platform, has announced hip hop megastar Pharrell Williams has joined their company as their Chief Brand Officer. One of Williams’ first jobs as part of the Doodles team is to produce a new album titled ‘Doodles: Volume 1’ which will launch in collaboration with Columbia Records.
Furthermore, Doodles have also announced that they have raised its first round of funding led by venture capital firm Seven Seven Six.
Bored Ape Yacht Club host ‘Apefest’
Bored Ape Yacht Club, known for their Bored Ape NFT collection, held their exclusive members only music festival, Apefest, in New York last week. Apefest featured appearances from international superstars Eminem & Snoop Dogg who debuted a new single. Lil Wayne, Future & other famous music acts also performed.
Meta reveals their vision for the Metaverse
Meta (Facebook) released a concept video sharing their vision of “the metaverse”. The video contained a sneak peek of their new headset design and fingertip input device. The fingertip device in particular has garnered a lot of attention due to its ability to allow users to touch and feel things in the metaverse.
Arizona State University considers hosting classes in the metaverse
Arizona State University (ASU) appears to be considering entering the metaverse. The university filed for seven trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in connection with several metaverse projects.
The trademarks were filed on June 7 and include the University’s name as well as the name and logo of its sports team, known as the Sun Devils, for use in “virtual environments in which users can interact for recreational, leisure or entertainment purposes” as well as for educational purposes.

The metaverse and Web 3.0 are showing their strength and ability to withstand the so-called decline of the blockchain. Once again, a whole host of celebrities and brands have announced exciting projects aimed at taking full advantage of the metaverse.
Each week there are more and more announcements about partnerships and new virtual experiences opening in the metaverse.
